प्रकाश/रोशनी के कई भिन्न अर्थ हो सकते हैं:

1. कभी कभी इस शब्द का प्रयोग ईश्वर की चेतना या आत्मा के सन्दर्भ में किया जाता है (The consciousness of God)

2. इसका शब्द का प्रयोग चेतना से उत्पन्न होने वाली चमक, आभा या ऊर्जा क्षेत्र' के लिए भी किया जाता है। यह ईश्वर के पुत्र-पुत्रियों और स्वर्ग के निवासियों में आत्म-अनुभूत होता है। एक कारण है और दूसरा उस कारण का प्रभाव है। जैसे सूर्य की किरण सूर्य के लिए है, वैसे ही आत्मा के लिए चेतना की अनुभूति है।

आध्यात्मिक प्रकाश ईश्वर की ऊर्जा व आत्मा की क्षमता है। आत्मा के मानव रूप में, "प्रकाश" शब्द का प्रयोग "ईश्वर" और "आत्मा" दोनों के सन्दर्भ में किया जा सकता है। आत्मा के रूप में यह "पवित्र अग्नि" का पर्याय है। यह महान केंद्रीय सूर्य (Great Central Sun) और वैयक्तिक ईश्वरीय उपस्थिति (I AM Presence) का प्रतिफल है, और जीवन का स्रोत है। यह वह है जो दिव्य चिंगारी (divine spark) को प्रज्वलित करता है; सच्चा प्रकाश ईश्वर की प्रत्येक अभिव्यक्ति, जो इस दुनिया में उपस्थित है, को रोशन करता है।^[1]

महान केंद्रीय सूर्य (Great Central Sun) का प्रकाश इस ब्रह्मांड के भौतिक सूर्य के केंद्र का प्रकाश है और ईश्वर/ आत्मा/ बौद्धिक चेतना का प्रकाश भी। यह ऊर्जा/ विधुत/ आकाशीय विधुत के भौतिक रूप को दर्शाता है तथा ईश्वर, आत्मा और बौद्ध की उपस्थिति को भी। अधिकतर पदार्थ सृष्टि में ईश्वर के प्रकाश (Light) का हमेशा वास होता है लेकिन प्रकाश (light) में हमेशा ईश्वर का वास हो ऐसा ज़रूरी नहीं।

प्रकाश वाहक (Lightbearer) अंधेरे को दूर करता है। उसके ईश्वरीय स्वरुप का प्रकाश है उस जगह से आता है जहाँ ईश्वर रहता है - जहाँ सदा उजाला रहता है, कभी भी अँधेरा नहीं होता।
