God, Goddess
The term God or Goddess denotes a cosmic being who has the attainment of God consciousness on one or more rays and in the service he or she renders.
In a dictation from July 2, 1994, the Goddess of Liberty explained that these terms do not refer to “the gods and goddesses of mythology but ... the Gods and Goddesses who are the forerunners of your own God-reality, which you shall achieve beyond your ascension in this life.”
All of God’s children, having been given the gift of free will, have the opportunity to consecrate their energies to the ray and to the flame of their calling and election. They then have the opportunity to magnify an aspect of the spark until it becomes first a whirlwind, then a miniature sun, and finally an orb of cosmic dimension—a veritable lodestone of virtue, a fount of authority from which all who hunger and thirst after righteousness may drink and be filled.
Ye Are Gods
Archangel Michael expounds upon this mystery:
I AM an Archangel, and I deal with the passions and feelings of Gods and men. When I speak of “Gods,” I trust you will understand that there is but one Lord. “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD!”[1] remains the fiat of the ages.
But there are many sons and daughters who have begun to exhibit that self-mastery and cosmic control which lead to higher initiation and engagement in the eternal track of universal certitude. They have become, as it were, Gods in their own domain. These, too, must be reckoned with—these Cosmic Beings, Ascended Masters, angels, Archangels and Mighty Elohim—for they have become cocreators with him by virtue of the godlike qualities they have externalized.
Finite man seldom thinks on such as these—servant Sons who have risen in the cosmic peerage to adorn the heavens with his expanding love. And this is the meaning of the statement “Ye are Gods!”[2] cited by Jesus, who had the courage to preach the cosmic truth that every manifestation of God has the opportunity of becoming godlike, even as the Father is in them and they are in him.
The faith of mortals is usually centered on this one or that one among their contemporaries, for whom they have changing esteem or contempt. What a pity! For all men are becoming, all men are evolving—even when the forward movement can only be measured in inches. Let men learn, then, to have faith in the potential of their own evolvement, and let them accord the same to others. For the arc of God stretches across the heavens and reaches the life of each individual according to his capacity to receive.[3]
As it is written in the Book of Psalms, so the Lord pronounces the authority of those who have magnetized a solar momentum of light’s virtue: “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the Most High.”[4]
The awarding of the title
Being awarded the title of God or Goddess is a sacred trust, a cosmic honor and a universal responsibility. It means that through invocation of the sacred fire in the white fire core of the flame, a son of God has drawn to his aura a light of solar magnitude enabling him to merge with that flame in the heart of the Great Central Sun and still retain his immortal identity.
And so a God is born in the flame of Eternal Being. Thus the Almighty honors a portion of himself. Can we do aught else—we who, following in their cosmic footsteps, are beckoned to come up higher because they have risen?
These Cosmic Beings, so dedicated to the fulfillment of the Christ in all, extend to embodied souls the waters of eternal life flowing from their fountains of living flame. Vendors of the Spirit, they cry, “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.”[5]
