Godfre
The ascended master Godfre was embodied as Guy W. Ballard, the messenger of Saint Germain. He brought forth the teachings of the Great White Brotherhood, the Law of the I AM Presence and held the focus of the Christ consciousness for the planet until his ascension in 1939. His wife and twin flame was Edna Ballard, now the ascended lady master Lotus. Guy Ballard’s pen name was Godfré Ray King. He is now known as the ascended master Godfre, God Obedience, but is still affectionately remembered by his students as “Daddy.”
Embodiments
Golden age in the Sahara Desert

Godfre was embodied as a son of the great king (Saint Germain) who ruled the civilization that flourished in what is now the Sahara Desert over 50,000 years ago. Guy, his wife, Edna Ballard, and their son, Donald, were embodied as Saint Germain’s children there.
Inca civilization
In Unveiled Mysteries, Saint Germain speaks of Godfre, Lotus and Donald Ballard coming into embodiment to give assistance as the Inca civilization reached its apex. They came to give service that was needed as the children of an Inca ruler, who had a great devotion to the Source and through that Source had a very high attainment: “He knew and consciously acknowledged the power of the Great Central Sun.... [The Incan people at that time] used the sun as the symbol of the Godhead. They had a real, inner understanding and acknowledged the fullness of the power from the Great Central Sun—which today we call the Christ.”[1]
Because of his gratitude and his love, the Inca ruler was taught to understand and use the Great Cosmic Law. Donald was embodied as his son. He was taught the laws of government and the divine duties of a ruler. Lotus, a daughter, was taught the inner work and the full law and consecration of Priestess in the Temple of the Sun. Godfre was taught the cosmic laws of the priesthood and also, secretly, the generalship of Armies.
After ten years of special training in Peru, the three were sent north to one of the new colonies of the Incan empire for the purpose of helping the people expand their activities and stimulate their progress. They came to the place which is now Mitla, in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Lotus served there as a priestess for more than forty years in what was one of the most magnificent temples of the period, which they constructed under the direction of one of the great ascended masters of the Golden City over the Sahara Desert. The outer part was made of massive stones, some of which can be seen among the ruins of the temple today.
Later embodiments
Among his other embodiments were one of the knights of the Round Table and Richard the Lionheart (1157–1199), king of England.

Godfre was also embodied as George Washington (1732–1799), first president of the United States.
Guy W. Ballard
The turning point in Godfre’s mission and the key to his victory in his final embodiment occurred as he was walking on Broadway in Los Angeles. At that time, when all seemed to be against him, he suddenly stopped and made a fiat to the dweller-on-the-threshold, the remnant of his own untransmuted human creation: “You have scared me for the last time. You have no power.”
Soon thereafter on Mount Shasta he met the master Saint Germain, who took him into the retreats of the Brotherhood and gave him the training for his world mission. These experiences are recorded in the three books that he subsequently brought forth as an expression of the threefold flame of the master’s consciousness, Unveiled Mysteries (yellow), The Magic Presence (pink) and the The “I AM” Discourses (blue).
Although the requirements for his ascension had been completed several years before he actually ascended, he volunteered to continue in the service of the Brotherhood as their point of contact in the world of form. Through the assistance given him by the Great Divine Director in the Cave of Light, his four lower bodies were aligned and his threefold flame balanced, enabling him to be the channel for many miracles and healings before his ascension. As part of his final service while in embodiment, Godfre took on world karma and expiated it through his physical form, thus sparing humanity great suffering that he himself chose to bear, even as Jesus bore the crucifixion for the sins of mankind.
Lessons from his life
From Godfre, we learn that unfailing obedience to one’s ascended guru and to the Great Law of Life is essential to individual victory and to the completion of the cosmic timetable for the golden age. Each act of disobedience sets back the plans of the Brotherhood for the victory of the planet, a victory for which each person is individually and collectively responsible.
The second great lesson we learn from Godfre is that it is not until we cast down the idol of the human consciousness that we begin the trek up the mountain of our initiations. The rejection of the human ego and consciousness should be made each time it attempts to assert itself. One need only say, “In the name of my mighty I AM Presence, I refuse to accept the tyranny of my human consciousness!” Of other individuals one may say, “In the name of my mighty I AM Presence, I refuse to accept (his or her) human consciousness. Beloved Holy Christ Self, you step forth in your blazing Reality and be the only Presence acting here!”
Godfre won his freedom through obedience to the law of Being. He teaches us to ascend moment by moment by raising our thoughts and feelings, our energies and actions. The ascension is the goal of life not only for the few, but for the many.
