Dark Cycle
The Dark Cycle began on April 23, 1969, and marked the beginning of the cycle of the intensification of the return of karma.
In this period of transition from the Piscean to the Aquarian age, the Great Law requires that the evolutions of planet earth deal directly with the momentums of personal and planetary karma set aside for centuries by the grace of God through his Sons incarnate (i.e., Jesus Christ and other avatars). In the face of the same propensity for darkness prevalent before the Flood, when “the wickedness of man was great in the earth” and “every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually,”[1] the Lords of Karma decreed this action in order to deter an even greater abuse of Life’s opportunity and to forestall that cataclysm which may be the ultimate consequence of the rising tide of world sin.
On August 20, 1969, the messengers explained that “the coming of the Dark Cycle simply means that the hand of mercy that for centuries has stood between mankind and their own dark deeds has been withdrawn. The law of God will bring swift and compelling judgment to those who have thought they could flaunt the law.” Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.[2]
Charting the Dark Cycle on the Cosmic Clock, we place April 23, 1969, in Capricorn on the 12 o’clock line, progressing it one line each year moving clockwise.
The coming of the Dark Cycle
We first heard that the Lords of Karma were contemplating the release of the Dark Cycle on November 5, 1966, when the Great Divine Director said through Mark Prophet:
The accumulation of human effluvia, the accretion of mankind’s neglect, has risen higher than ever before in history. In fact, it was only 75 percent of the present height when the decision was made [by those Four Cosmic Beings and the Four and Twenty Elders with them] to overthrow the [Atlantean and other] civilizations that existed in the time of Noah.
The concepts of Nimrod had reached into the hearts of the people and they desired to seek for material pleasures exclusively and thus it came about that the Flood descended. You must understand, gracious ones, that in every time when destruction has come forth unto mankind it has been because of ignorance and the perpetuation of ignorance....
Now has come the time, precious ones, when [students of Light] may call and the [Great Karmic] Board cannot answer.... The will of God has clearly delineated that if the present course is to be pursued, [that is, the present karma-making course of 99 percent of the people of the planet,] the entire planet will of necessity be blotted out of the planetary chain and those righteous individuals who are here be removed to other [planetary homes to dwell among their] evolutions....
Therefore, we sound forth tonight the edict that unless mankind shall change and correct [their ways] and mend some of the terrible flaws now existent in society, certainly the elementals [Mother Nature] will be unable to hold back the tide of human creation that now stands behind them, held in [abeyance in] the name of cosmic mercy.[3]
In October 1967 the God Meru said that unless mankind turned from their violations, the sign of the Dark Cycle would begin on January 18, 1969. A number of Cosmic Beings, including the Great Divine Director, voiced their approval of the recommendations of the Solar Lords, for they declared that it was no longer an act of mercy to allow mankind to think that they could flaunt the Law and escape the consequences of their acts. These Great Beings pointed out that (due to the great mercy of the Law) many were unable to see in the cycle of a given embodiment the return of their karma. Therefore, instead of loving God more for his great love and patience toward them, some grew to despise him, while others became convinced that he did not exist.
As a result of their deliberations, the decree went forth that mankind must bear their karmic burden if they did not reverse their negative momentums and turn to serve the light by January 18, 1969. The return of their karma had long been held in abeyance by those Intelligences who sought to lead the race into ascending spirals of self-mastery before requiring the balancing of the energies misqualified in ignorance. Now the individual and the race as a whole would be required to stand, face and conquer those abuses of the Law recorded in their electronic belts. This would be a time of great travail, “of weeping and gnashing of teeth”[4] as Jesus said. Hence the term “Dark Cycle.”
The Middle East
On January 19, 1969, Gautama Buddha explained:
Those of you who were present for my address at the Class of the Twelfth Hour will recall that I did petition the Karmic Board to set aside the date of January 18, 1969, as the beginning of the Dark Cycle and move it thence to July 18, 1969. You did not receive the answer of the Karmic Board (which I had apprehended would be favorable). But for reasons best known unto that body, which they have communicated to me privately, their decision has been to grant this request tentatively and only under the condition that Israel cease from her aggressive attitudes toward the Arab states. Naturally, the Arab states, too, must restrain themselves in their movements; for we do not favor one nation against another. But the warlike manifestations currently being exercised in the Holy Land represent to us the most dangerous single factor that is calculated to plunge mankind headlong into a holocaust of planetary destructivity.[5]
This is because if these battles had escalated, the United States would have taken the side of Israel and the Soviet Union would have taken the side of the Arab states, beginning a global war based on the karmic records of their animosities.
On April 22, 1969, U Thant, secretary-general of the United Nations, said that Israel and Egypt were in “a virtual state of active war” and that the UN cease-fire had become “totally ineffective in the Suez Canal sector.”[6]
The following day, April 23, Egypt formally repudiated the cease-fire and the Dark Cycle began. Its purpose: to let the karma descend and therefore diminish the destructive capacity of both sides, thus controlling the damage. And the Dark Cycle is exactly that, damage control.
But the period of a Dark Cycle does not eliminate free will. And people have to work to do better in order to do better.
There are laggard evolutions on the planet today who despite their heavy karma have figured out how to outwit the odds, dodge their karma and use the Dark Cycle to their ends: they wage war, manage both sides of the conflict, and use the chaos to rearrange the territory so that their net gain is more power, money and control over the people and the planetary resources. And the lightbearers have less, and less, and less each time the formula is reapplied.
Even after the Dark Cycle began, the United States and the Soviet Union were nearly drawn into a war in the Middle East. On October 24, 1973, the threat of direct Soviet intervention in the Yom Kippur war between Israel and a coalition of Arab states almost provoked a nuclear exchange.
The purpose of the Dark Cycle
The chief purpose of the Dark Cycle is to so tie up people in their old bad karma that they simply don’t have time or space or energy to make new bad karma. The reality is that returning negative karma keeps people from making more negative karma. For above all, karma is limiting. It limits free will and its free expression. It limits the expansion of mind and heart. It limits people’s ability to do anything they might want to do. Karma, and specifically the karmic return of this Dark Cycle, is, simply put, a roadblock.
When karma descends it feels like molasses; it is so sticky and so heavy that it reduces the people’s capacity to wreak havoc and work evil. Karma is a tar baby. Karma descends to limit the destructivity of mankind and to preserve their option to do good. And therefore since April 23, 1969, people have become literally stuck in the sticky stuff of their karma.
Transmuting the karma of the Dark Cycle
In his 1992 New Year’s Eve address, Gautama Buddha announced that henceforth on the twenty-third of each month there would descend upon every creature on earth “a fine powder,... a dust of karma.”[7] Gautama said that much of this karma could be transmuted by the violet flame.
Archangel Zadkiel and Holy Amethyst remind us to prepare for the twenty-third of each month:
It is well to give extra calls to the violet flame on the twenty-second and throughout the day of the twenty-third that you might transmute karma before it settles into the pores of your skin.... Karma is a fine soot ... and it crystallizes as it falls, deadening the soul faculties and dulling the brain. And unless you are alert, you will not recall the greater mental and spiritual clarity you had before that added layer of karma descended upon you.[8]
Saint Germain speaks of a dispensation whereby we may transmute this karma:
On the twenty-third of each month an increment of mankind’s karma descends upon every unascended lifestream who is karmically tied to earth’s evolutions. The gravity of this karma cannot be overestimated. The antidote, again, is your violet-flame decrees multiplied by your good works. For the Great Law has spoken:
Those who faithfully give three hours or more of violet-flame decrees on the twenty-third of each month specifically for the transmutation of their personal karma shall clean escape their personal karma of the Dark Cycle for the given month.
Those who faithfully give nine hours or more of violet-flame decrees on the twenty-third of each month specifically for the transmutation of planetary karma shall clean escape the planetary karma of the Dark Cycle for the given month.
This, my beloved, is an unheard-of dispensation! Come hell or high water, as they say, do not allow anyone or anything to stand in the way of your oneness with me on the twenty-third of each month until the hour of your ascension![9]
If we can keep 90% of our focus either on the violet flame or the I AM Presence, we will receive the original fifteen-minute dispensation of Omri-Tas and all other violet flame dispensations that Saint Germain has given. This means that our thoughts, our emotions, and our feelings cannot stray: we must have the one-pointed discipline of seeing the violet flame or seeing a representative of the violet flame.
If we maintain two full hours of at least 90% concentration on the violet flame, we will so multiply our decrees by Saint Germain’s and Omri-Tas’ dispensations that we will have achieved the equivalent of twelve hours and thereby we will realize the transmutation of our personal karma and we will escape the planetary karma of the Dark Cycle for the given month.
